Through our survivor and research-centered approach, we partner with communities to combat human trafficking and gender-based violence.

We collaborate with survivors, researchers, and communities to strengthen programs combatting human trafficking and gender-based violence. We use a data-driven and survivor-centered approach to support survivors in their recovery and equip other service providers to raise standards of care.

We help survivors of human trafficking and gender-based violence recover from trauma, reduce re-exploitation, and support their resilience and security.

We train and mentor other service providers in survivor-centered, evidence-based, and culturally-adapted interventions.

Research is integrated into everything we do. We use research to constantly strengthen our programs, building an evidence base for what works.

We co-lead programming and research in partnership with survivors and collaborate with survivors to advocate for survivor-centered approaches.

What survivor leadership means to survivors

Photovoice is a participatory research methodology in which survivors use photography to define their experiences on their own terms. Survivors take photographs to share their stories, collaborate with researchers on all aspects of the research process, and use study findings to bring about social change.

We are survivor-centered

We approach our work with a participatory model that centers survivors’ stories and uplifts local leaders’ voices. We value survivor leadership, with survivors as key members of our team. We integrate rigorous research into everything we do, partnering with research scholars, survivors, and communities to make programs more effective.

“When I became a peer facilitator, my self-esteem and self-confidence boosted.

I am very grateful to Eleison for seeing my skills, capabilities, and potential, and for them giving me a role where I am able to tell myself that I can do something more and that I can make a contribution. I am proud of myself and I am grateful for the trust that has been given to me. Being a source of inspiration and hearing other clients say the impact that my experience has on them is my greatest achievement.”
