We are proud to welcome the first cohort of our Clinical Case Management (CCM) program tailored exclusively for youth survivors of Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC) and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC). OSEC involves the production, distribution, and consumption of sexually explicit content involving minors online. Meanwhile, CSEC encompasses the exploitation of children through prostitution, pornography, or other illicit activities, often for financial or personal gain. Survivors of these crimes endure physical, emotional, and psychological trauma, facing challenges reintegrating into society and accessing the vital support necessary for healing. This youth-focused initiative offers them a path toward healing, empowerment, and a brighter future.
The CCM program is part of our community mental health services, providing clients access to counseling, case management, and psychosocial support. Many survivors experience a range of complex issues, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, and difficulties in interpersonal relationships. CCM is designed to address these needs comprehensively through a collaborative process. This process involves identifying the mental health needs of survivors, developing a comprehensive treatment plan, connecting them to the treatment and resources they require to heal and recover, and providing advocacy and support to help them access care.
In these sessions, we provide psychoeducation to help clients understand their mental health and navigate participating in mental health services. We walk with them step-by-step until they stabilize and reach their treatment goals. In addition, we provide funding for counseling and psychiatric care and connect survivors to other mental health services in the community, as well as access to medication, as needed. We also advocate with other providers and help reduce barriers to survivors receiving mental health care.
By fostering resilience, empowerment, and hope, we believe that every survivor has the potential to create a future defined by their strength. Through CCM, we can help youth survivors gain the tools, resources, and support needed not only to overcome their traumas but also to thrive in all aspects of their lives.
