We have launched a new partnership with the Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation, an organization committed to promoting the well-being of at-risk children, women, and families in the Philippines and Hawai’i and to preventing their abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Through our partnership with Consuelo, we are conducting a needs assessment on strengthening mental health care for child survivors of human trafficking, abuse, and exploitation. Additionally, we are facilitating a series of mental health workshops for youth survivors, their family members, and anti-trafficking service providers.
Through our partnership with the Consuelo Foundation, our mental health education workshops have become available to stakeholders nation-wide in the Philippines. Until the end of 2024, we will conduct a series of mental health workshops for service providers at Consuelo’s partners nationally. These mental health education workshops will address self-care and stress management, personal health and wellness, and managing emotions. Our workshops provide a safe space to learn, self-reflect, share experiences and challenges with peers, experience skill building, and address stigma associated with discussing mental health challenges.
To ensure high quality services for survivors of child trafficking, abuse, and exploitation, it is essential to care for caregivers and ensure they have the support they need to sustain themselves in their work. We express our thanks to the Consuelo Foundation for giving us the opportunity to expand our reach and bring mental health support to service providers at a larger scale. We look forward to continuing to serve service providers, ensuring that systems are in place to care for carers.
