After expanding operations in the Philippines in 2021, Eleison’s programming and research grew significantly in 2022. As a grassroots community-based organization, we continue to adapt our approach to meet our clients’ needs and the community’s ever-changing conditions. As we continue to grow, we realized the need to expand our facilities so that we can assist more survivors through trauma-informed, evidence-based, and survivor-centered approaches.
On February 7, 2023, we reached a significant milestone with the inauguration of our new office space, where we conducted a blessing followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony that was carried out by Eleison’s Executive Director, Dr. Laura Cordisco Tsai. The event was attended by our staff and members of our client advisory board, the Survivor Leadership Council (SLC).
With this additional space, we are now able to extend our programs and services to reach more survivors, thereby strengthening our community presence. We will be able to serve a larger number of survivors and community partners in our crisis intervention, community mental health, economic empowerment, and partner capacity building programs. Additionally, the new office space will allow for dedicated counseling and research rooms, which are essential in our 2023 plans to launch two new research studies aimed at improving the quality of care for survivors.
One of the Eleison staff, Ryco Mirafuentes, stated:
“The extension of a new office for Eleison has been a great blessing, and I am very thankful for it. This extension or opening of a new office for Eleison is an opportunity for growth that will allow us as an organization to welcome more client survivors and provide more quality programs and services.”
As we expand our research and services, survivor leadership, research evidence, and community partnership will remain at the core of all that we do. However, pursuing this mission necessitates a significant financial foundation. With your generosity, we can raise an additional $3,000 for our renovations and supplies. Please join us as we support survivors in their recovery, reduce their risk of re-exploitation, and enhance their resilience and security. We invite you to donate here today.
