We are proud to welcome our sixth and seventh cohorts of the Healing and Resilience after Trauma (HaRT) program. HaRT is a 12-week group mental health program that combines mindfulness, mind-body practices, and supportive group discussions to address three core themes: safety in the body, radical self-love, and healthy relationships. It provides survivors of human trafficking and gender-based violence with a free, accessible, and community-based alternative form of mental health support that is culturally sensitive and inclusive.
Designed to foster holistic healing, HaRT empowers participants to nurture their physical, emotional, and mental well-being within a safe environment. Through the program, individuals learn essential techniques to manage stress, regulate emotions, and cultivate resilience. HaRT provides a supportive space where participants can connect with others, share experiences, and foster a sense of belonging. Participants in previous cohorts reported significant improvements in mental health and well-being, experiencing physical relaxation, social acceptance, and emotional support. They expressed reduced anxiety, increased self-compassion, and improved interpersonal relationships, highlighting the transformative impact of the program.
Our commitment to supporting survivors extends beyond the program itself. Through a research-informed, culturally sensitive intervention, we aim to remove barriers to mental health treatment, mainstream psychosocial support services, and elevate mental health as a public priority. We are currently raising funds to sustain and expand the HaRT program, which aims to accommodate more survivors. Please consider donating here or here to support our cause.
