On April 26, 2023, Eleison’s Clinical Program Manager, Carmina Charmaine G. Domingo, attended the “Stronger Together: Celebrating a Strong Network of Care” event by the International Justice Mission (IJM). The event highlights the accomplishments of the “A Strong Network of Care: Applying an Assessment Model as the Basis for Specialized Care for Child Survivors of Online Sexual Exploitation” project in the Philippines. It also acknowledges the efforts and contributions of stakeholders.

IJM started this two-year project with a grant from the US Department of State’s Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (J/TIP). The project seeks to equip a Philippine Network of Social Services to provide a comprehensive and trauma-informed response to the individual needs of child survivors of online sexual exploitation and empower them toward healthy reintegration.

In recognition of our contribution to the project, Eleison has been awarded a plaque of appreciation from IJM. This plaque demonstrates our hard work and commitment to the Philippine Survivor Network (PSN) as a member of their Advisory Council. Eleison supports the PSN by providing leadership development, mentorship, advocacy, and access to community-based mental health and economic empowerment services. We are proud to have been recognized and played a significant role in empowering survivors through survivor-centered approaches and supporting them in rebuilding their lives.

Our contribution exemplifies the many initiatives organizations and individuals worldwide undertake to combat human trafficking and exploitation. This event serves as a reminder of the importance of having a network of organizations dedicated to providing resources and support to survivors, which is crucial to creating a more just and equitable world for all. Together, we can significantly ensure that progress is sustained and amplified, only then can we hope to eradicate human trafficking and create a better future for generations to come.

Everyone deserves to live a life free from fear and harm. We will continue to work towards this vision and hope to inspire others to join us. If you want to learn more about Eleison or how you can get involved, you can read more here.
